Newsroom
Good morning, Cyprus. You can safely exhale now.
After yesterday's "Lawrence of Arabia" vibe, the dust has officially moved on, and we can confirm that the mountains are, in fact, still there. Today brings a literal breath of fresh air as weak high pressure takes charge, scrubbing the atmosphere clean. No more chewing the air, no more squinting through the haze; just blue skies and clarity.
Today is the day to open the windows. The weather will be mostly clear, letting that February sun do its work. It’s also surprisingly mild, with temperatures climbing to a delightful 19°C inland and along the coasts. Even the mountains are reaching double digits at 10°C.
The winds have calmed down significantly compared to yesterday’s gale-force drama. Expect a light to moderate breeze (3-4 Beaufort) from the southwest to northwest. The sea is still settling, starting a bit rough in the west and north, but generally becoming slightly rough.
Tonight, the clear theme continues. Winds will drop to a gentle 3 Beaufort, and the sea will smooth out to calm or slightly rough. It’s a perfect night for stargazing now that the dust curtain has been lifted.
The outlook
Thursday: The sunshine gets some company as the weather turns partly cloudy. Temperatures hold steady, staying warmer than average.
Friday: The "fresh air" break ends. Clouds will gather, bringing local rain and isolated thunderstorms by the afternoon.
Saturday: The weekend kicks off partly cloudy with a lingering chance of isolated showers, mainly if you are in the west or the mountains.
Feel free to take a deep breath that doesn't crunch and enjoy the view while it's crystal clear.
